What is GLUTARALDEHYDE used for?
This product can be used as bactericidal disinfectant, leather tanning agent, wood preservative,
medicine and polymer synthesis raw material, etc.
It can be used as a fixative for microscopic examination.
Combined with chrome to tan cattle, pigs, sheep garment leather, glove leather. It is suitable for
storage at low temperature (below 0°C) in a sealed and dark place. This product is highly irritating to
the eyes and skin, and protective equipment such as glasses and gloves should be worn when taking it.
Do not mix with phenolic vegetable tanning agents and syntans.
Glutaraldehyde is a chemical antiseptic and fungicide with low toxicity. It can be used for
fresh-keeping of vegetables and fruits according to the regulations of our country. The maximum usage
amount is 0.05g/kg, and the residual amount is not more than 5mg/kg.
Glutaraldehyde is the most important saturated linear aliphatic dialdehyde after glyoxal. Glutaraldehyde
is known as the third-generation chemical sterilant, and it is also an excellent tanning agent, protein
cross-linking agent, high-efficiency bactericidal disinfectant, biological enzyme and tissue curing
agent for cells. It is widely used in medicine, sanitation, petrochemical, light industry and scientific
research.
Is GLUTARALDEHYDE toxic?
Glutaraldehyde is irritating to the skin and mucous membranes of humans and animals. 5% glutaraldehyde
can cause severe irritation symptoms, but 2% glutaraldehyde only gives the skin a shiny brown color.
Glutaraldehyde has mild systemic toxicity in humans.
