Inhalation Cough. Sore throat. Use local exhaust or breathing protection. Fresh air, rest.
Skin Redness. Burning sensation. Itching. Protective gloves. Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap.
Eyes Redness. Pain. Wear safety goggles. First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then refer for medical attention.
Ingestion Abdominal pain. Nausea. Vomiting. Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating. Rinse mouth. Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!). Refer for medical attention.
Add 1mol anhydrous hexanediamine, deionized water 8mol (144g), 4mol formaldehyde to the reaction flask equipped with sealed stirrer, reflux condenser and drop funnel, stir and cool to below 30 °C, slowly add 4mol phosphorus trichloride dropwise, control the reaction temperature at 30~40 °C, and hydrogen chloride escapes in the reaction. Keep the molar ratio of phosphorus trichloride in the system 1:4.5, when the phosphorus trichloride is added, the temperature is slowly raised by 110 °C, and the liquid is obtained by reflux reaction. This liquid can be used as a scale inhibitor to circulate cooling water. If a solid product is prepared, the reaction solution can be slowly dropped into absolute ethanol, that is, white precipitation is precipitated, and the ethanol is filtered out to obtain a solid product.

What is HMDTMPA?
This product is a white crystalline powder at room temperature, slightly soluble in water, and its solubility is less than 5% at room temperature. Like other nitrogen-containing phosphonic acids, this product is easily decomposed by oxidizing biocides such as liquid chlorine and becomes ineffective. Remedial measures include using zinc ion stabilizers, intermittent and impact dosing, and separation from the chlorine dosing point, etc.

What is HMDTMPA used for?
This product can inhibit the formation of various scales, such as calcium carbonate scale, calcium sulfate scale, barium sulfate scale and iron oxide scale, etc. But it is mainly used to inhibit calcium sulfate and barium sulfate scale in water treatment. Among various organic phosphonic acids, it has the best performance in inhibiting calcium sulfate scale. It has high scale inhibition rate and long effective time, so it is especially suitable for extrusion treatment in oil fields. It can also be used in boiler water treatment.

How about the package and storage of HMDTMPA?
This product is packed in a composite plastic woven bag or a package that meets the export environmental protection requirements. The net weight of each bag is 25kg, which can also be determined according to customers’ requirements. Store in a cool and dry place, the storage period is twelve months.
