Application features of Sodium of Polyepoxysuccinic Acid(PESA)?
1. Scale inhibition performance of PESA
Experiments show that PESA has a solubility-limiting effect on the deposition of calcium sulfate scale,
and its scale inhibition rate increases with the increase of dosage. When the concentration reaches a
certain concentration, the scale inhibition ability no longer increases significantly.
The anti-calcium carbonate scale of PESA is better than some commonly used polycarboxylates, sulfonates,
and polyphosphoric acid scale inhibitors.
2. Corrosion inhibition performance of PESA
When PESA is used alone, a lower dosage has a certain corrosion inhibition effect on carbon steel. With
the increase of PESA concentration, its corrosion inhibition effect is also enhanced, the corrosion rate
of carbon steel decreases gradually, and the corrosion inhibition rate increases. To achieve better
corrosion inhibition effect, the required PESA mass concentration is higher.
When PESA is used alone as a corrosion inhibitor, its performance is inferior to other organic
phosphoric acid corrosion inhibitors, but because it does not contain phosphorus, it can be compounded
with other agents to form low-phosphorus or phosphorus-free organic corrosion inhibitors. Studies have
found that PESA has a good synergistic effect with inorganic phosphates, organic phosphates, and
benzotriazoles, and the corrosion inhibition effect after compounding is significantly enhanced.

1. PESA is suitable for oilfield water injection, crude oil dehydration, boiler water treatment and
other fields.
2. PESA is suitable for water treatment of circulating cooling systems in steel, petrochemical, electric
power, pharmaceutical and other industries.
3. PESA is especially suitable for boiler water treatment, circulating cooling water treatment, seawater
desalination and membrane separation of high alkalinity, high hardness, high pH and high concentration
ratio systems.
4. PESA is suitable as a washing aid.
